Position: Assistant Athletic Trainer – Full-time Position (12-month, non-tenured)

Rank: Commensurate with qualifications and experience.
Qualifications: Experience in athletic training at the collegiate level preferred. Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree in kinesiology or related field preferred. Certification by the National Athletic Trainers Association is required. Additional background in physical therapy, emergency medical technology or physician assistant is desirable. Required: Applicants should have awareness of and sensitivity to the educational goals of a multicultural population as might have been gained in cross-cultural study, training, teaching and other comparable experience.
Responsibilities: Reports directly to the Associate Head Athletic Trainers. Responsibilities include prevention, assessment, first aid, treatment, and rehabilitation of athletic injuries. Additional responsibilities include other duties as assigned by the Associate Head Athletic Trainers. Assignment will encompass all Division of Intercollegiate Athletics intercollegiate sports with primary duties including both male and female “outdoor” sports such as baseball, softball, men’s soccer, women’s soccer, and women’s tennis. Assist in the coordination of medical coverage at home and away athletic events and the supervision of graduate assistant and undergraduate athletic training students. The assistant athletic trainer will work with and communicate with division coaching staffs, as well as the ability to relate positively to student athletes, administrators and support staff. The assistant athletic trainer position also requires responsibilities in various areas of athletic training administration and organization. Candidate must address the needs of a student population of great diversity – in age, cultural background, ethnicity, primary language and academic preparation – through course materials, teaching strategies and advisement.
Salary Range: Commensurate with qualifications and experience.
Starting Date: Negotiable.
