Athletics Honors Scholarship Endowments
San Jose State recently honored the individuals who endow scholarships for Spartan student-athletes.
Recently the Spartan family including coaches, athletes and staff held a special event to honor and thank all of the Spartan Athletics endowment donors whose vision has been a significant and valued piece of the Spartan scholarship efforts. Endowed scholarships are an integral component of the San Jose State Athletic department, ensuring the academic and athletic success of our student-athletes.<?xml:namespace prefix="o" ns="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office"?>
The event was highlighted by heartfelt comments from two student-athletes, cross-country runner Gordie Throne and volleyball player Krystal Tsukano. Both individuals emphasized how valuable their scholarships were and how appreciative of the donors they are. The event closed with comments from Athletic Director Tom Bowen who reminded all in attendance that the endowment program is a commitment from donors, friends of Spartan Athletics, to ensure the success of future student-athletes.
