SAN JOSE, Calif.—The 2002 San Jose State University baseball team beat the Spartan a
lumni, 14-1, in a rain shortened game at Blethen Field on Saturday afternoon. The teams played four innings before the game was called.
The Spartans scored 10 runs in the third inning to put the game out of reach for the Alumni. Senior catcher Adam Shorsher had three RBIs on two hits in the inning. Senior Shortstop Ryan Adams and sophomore third baseman Kevin Frandsen each had two RBIs. Adams hit a two-run double in the bottom of the first to open the scoring for the Spartans.
The Spartans open their regular season at home against St. Mary’s on Friday, February 1 at 2:30 p.m. at Municipal Stadium.
