Cal Poly women's tennis tops San Jose State, 6-1
Los Gatos, Calif.-----Angie Bagheri's straight-set win over Coral Silverstone at number one singles was one of five Cal Poly singles triumphs as the Mustangs defeated San Jose State University, 6-1, in a non-conference women's tennis match.
Los Gatos, Calif.-----Angie Bagheri’s straight-set win over Coral Silverstone at number one singles was one of five Cal Poly singles triumphs as the Mustangs defeated San Jose State University, 6-1, in a non-conference women’s tennis match.
Bagheri improved her singles record to 9-6 after her 6-2, 6-3 victory. Cal Poly, which ended a two-match losing streak, also received straight set singles wins from Erica Nelson and Sandra Tabata at number five and six singles, respectively.
San Jose State’s only point in the match occurred at number three singles as Ana Lukner defeated Stephanie Westrich, 6-3, 6-1.
The Spartans’ record dropped to 6-10 in dual matches.
