Senior women's administrator Carolyn Lewis is one of five women who will receive a commendation from the city of San Jose during the March 18 council meeting. Lewis, who is in her 29th year working in Spartan athletics, is being recognized as part of the city's Women's History Month program. Other recipients are Josephine Chang, an engineer for IBM; Verdis Crockett, a retired educator; Shannon Haley, publisher of the Women's Voice magazine; and Kitty Monahan, president of the New Almaden Quicksilver County Park Association.
