Daley Named Assistant Athletic Director For Academic Services
Eileen Daley has been named Assistant Athletic Director for Academic Services at San Jose State.
San Jose State Athletics is pleased to announce the hiring of Eileen Daley as Assistant Athletic Director for Academic Services. Daley had been the lead athletic academic counselor in San Jose State’s student success services department since 2005.
In her new position, Daley will oversee the academic services program and address the overall academic goals for the Athletics Department. She will work in liaison roles with academic advising, University admissions and the NCAA. Some additional oversight will include managing the Spartan 5th Year program, grant submissions and student orientation programs.
“Eileen’s efforts and success with our student-athletes and coaches made her a wonderful choice for this position,” said Deputy Director of Athletics Kellie Elliott. “Eileen will be a pivotal member of our team as we continue to enhance the academic standing of our student-athletes and our department.”
A graduate of Sonoma State University who later earned a master's degree in sport psychology, Daley has over a decade worth of experience in the academic enrichment area. Her previous work experience includes serving as the life skills and compliance intern at Sonoma State (1998-99), and as the assistant director of the California Interscholastic Federation (1999-2003), where she administered all CIF educational programs.
From 2003-05, Daley served as the athletic academic coordinator at San Francisco State University.
