Freshman Noelle Lee reaches quarterfinal round of the Wathen/Hancock Bulldog Classic women's tennis tournament.

Fresno, Calif.-----Noelle Lee, in her first competition as a member of the San Jose State University women’s tennis team, advanced as far as the quarterfinal round action at the Fresno State University Invitational held September 28 through September 30.
Lee won a pair of straight set matches Friday, September 28, defeating Long Beach State’s Kelly Chan, 6-2, 6-1, and Laila Kim of CS Sacramento, 6-1, 6-2. She added her third consecutive straight-set win, 6-3, 6-1, over Fresno State’s Ewa Grusieka. Lee was eliminated in the quarterfinal round by number-three seed Chloe Carlotti of Fresno State, 6-3, 6-1.
The Spartan newcomer teamed with another new San Jose State player, Ana Lukner, to reach third -round doubles competition before losing to California’s Christina Fusano and Nicole Havlicek, the number-two seeded doubles combo, 8-5. The San Jose State pair beat Petra Abraham and Amanda Sanches of CS Sacramento and Catherine Cochrane and Pati Ruiz of Santa Clara on September 28.
