Spartan Foundation volunteers raised $61,674 during the second reporting session of the annual fund drive for San Jose State student-athlete scholarships. The money was reported Thursday evening during the weekly Fund Drive reporting sessions.

Donna Rooney was the top fundraiser for the second time in two weeks with over $10,000.
Team Fund Hunters, led by Diana Hunter, was the top group for the week with $15,545 in cash. The top rookie award was handed to David Yow for raising over $2,000.Grand total for the drive is $258,000.

Kami Schmedding Bauman, a former volleyball player, was the featured speaker during the second reporting session held on April 24. Bauman emphasized the importance of her scholarship at San Jose State University. Several schools passed on Bauman when she was diagnosed with a learning disability during her junior year in high school. Kami proved them all wrong by graduating in 4 1/2 years with honors. Bauman, now a grammar school teacher, stressed that she teaches how to overcome adversity by sharing her amazing story with her students.
