Returning to major-college competition after one season at Texas Tech
University, Jamall is a wide receiver prospect joining the Spartans this
fall. Broussard spent 2001 at College of the Canyons (Coach Chuck Lyon)
where he caught 22 passes for 336 yards and four touchdowns. At Texas Tech,
he started four games and caught 10 passes for 56 yards. The graduate of
Kingwood (Texas) High School was a first-team all-area selection his senior
year. He spent the 1999 season attending the Naval Academy Prep School in
Newport, R.I. Broussard visited the University of Alabama and the
University of Southern California and turned down scholarship offers from
Oregon and Arizona State during the 2001-02 recruiting period. He hopes to
become a sports broadcaster. Jamall was born in Beaumont, Texas on August
19, 1981.
