Jody Smith Named Assistant Athletics Director
Jody Smith, most recently of Stanford University, has been named Asssistant Athletics Director for Events & Facilities.
San Jose State Athletics is pleased to announce the addition of Jody Smith as Assistant Athletics Director for Events & Facilities. In this position, Smith’s duties will include scheduling of facilities for internal and external constituents, event management including overseeing site preparation, oversight of facilities maintenance to include recommendations for improvements and risk management of facilities.<?xml:namespace prefix="o" ns="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office"?>

Smith joins the Spartan staff after a long association with StanfordUniversity. Most recently, Smith served as the Director of Special Events and the AveryAquaticCenter manager at Stanford. The AveryCenter is one of the largest competitive aquatics facilities in the United States and is a frequent venue for national and international events.
From 2001-05, Smith served as the Associate Director for The Track & Field Foundation at Stanford where she was responsible for hosting the Oracle US Open Track & Field, the USA Outdoor National Championships and the USA Junior National Championships in June 2002 and 2003.
Smith’s broad work experience also includes four years working in multiple positions for Nike. Additionally, Smith worked for two start-up internet companies: Ultimate Bid.com and Pupule Sports.com.
