Students interested in applying for one of the Student Equipment Manager positions need only have an interest in athletics, ability to multitask, and reasonable athletic ability, as some of the practice management tasks require some athletic ability. Most of the skills required are subtle, and you will be trained in all areas necessary. The ability to follow direction, pay attention to detail, and enjoy yourself are fundamental.
Applications are accepted year round, with positions usually coming open at different times. Football managers are usually interviewed and placed during the Spring Semester, starting on a limited basis in the spring, and full-time at the beginning of Fall Camp, usually around the first week in August. Basketball positions are usually interviewed and placed year round, with a beginning timeframe of early Fall, with limited involvement in September and full time beginning around October 15. Baseball and Soccer are filled throughout both Fall and Spring term.
