Junior Spartan Clinic Introduces Youth To SJSU Athletics

SJSU Athletics held a Junior Spartan clinic Saturday.

Prior to the San Jose State–Boise State football game, SJSU Athletics held a Junior Spartan club clinic with the support of several student-athletes. Student-athletes from Baseball, Softball, Women’s Golf and Men’s Soccer were on hand to conduct a series of rotational drills for each team of Junior Spartans to participate in.

The clinic provided the opportunity for each student-athlete to share with the Junior Spartans a personal introduction into their respective sport. They also shared the importance of training their minds through education, and training their body through well-balanced nutrition.

“We had a great time with the Junior Spartans today at the clinic. It felt great to know we were able to introduce our sport and the University to the kids. We have made a difference today,” said Josh Amberson from San Jose State Baseball.

The Junior Spartans is a free membership club for youth 12 years of age and younger. The membership includes several unique perks; free admission to select San Jose State athletic events, monthly newsletters, and a specially designed club t-shirt. Another value to becoming a Junior Spartan is the opportunity to engage with our student-athletes and coaches during a one-on-one clinic held twice an academic year.
