KSJS to Broadcast Spartan Road Baseball Games

SAN JOSE, Calif.—KSJS, 90.5 FM, will broadcast a majority of the Spartan baseball team’s road games and a selection of home games for the upcoming 2002 season. KSJS will broadcast its first baseball game of the season when the Spartans travel to Berkeley to face the California Golden Bears.

Michael Thomas, sports director at KSJS, returns for his third season as the play-by-play voice for the Spartans. Thomas, a senior in broadcast journalism, has broadcast other Spartans sports including football, volleyball and men’s soccer.

Each broadcast will begin 15 minutes prior to the start of the game with the "Spartan Pregame Show" featuring an interview with Spartan head coach Sam Piraro and a preview of the game’s match-up.

The broadcasts can also be accessed via the internet. Visit www.ksjs.org to download the new ChainCast Player for fast access to the games without extensive buffering or lag times.

The Spartans begin their 2002 season on Friday, Feb. 1 against St. Mary’s College at Municipal Stadium. First pitch will be at 2:30 p.m.
