Martin Named Second Vice President/Treasurer of CABMA
Stacy Martin moves up to second Vice President/Treasurer of the College Athletic Business Management Association.
Cleveland, Ohio—After serving the past year as a 3rd Vice President for the College Athletic Business Management Association, Stacy Martin, Senior Associate Athletics Director/Chief Operation Officer at San Jose State, will move up to 2nd Vice President/Treasurer for the 2009-2010 year.
A native of Omaha, Neb., Martin was promoted to her position in June 2008, after serving as the Associate Athletics Director for Business and Finance. She also serves as the department’s Senior Woman Administrator. For three full years and part of a fourth, Martin had fiscal oversight for the department's $20-million annual budget that includes 16 sports, 32 departments and 125 employees. Her business savvy and acumen have resulted in San Jose State finishing each of the last four academic years with a budget surplus - a university first.
A four-time letterwinner and former captain of the Spartan women's gymnastics team, Martin has bachelor's and master's degrees from San Jose State University. The 2002 graduate majored in business administration and corporate financial management. She earned an M.B.A. in finance in 2005. While an undergraduate, Martin was recognized by "Who's Who Among Students" for her scholarship, leadership and service to the campus and community.
CABMA is an organization devoted to the establishment, maintenance and implementation of the highest standards of integrity and efficiency in the scope, policies and procedures involved in the management and administration of business in the athletics departments and associations of colleges and universities. CABMA is administered by the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA), which is in its 45th year.
