Mike Chisholm, the radio voice for Texas A&M University - Corpus Christi last year, accepted the newly-created position of Director of Broadcasting and Sales for the San Jose State University division of intercollegiate athletics. The announcement was made by John Glass, senior associate athletics director for external operations.

His broadcast experience dates back to 1986 where he worked at radio stations in Laramie and Jackson, Wyoming. While working for KOWB Radio (1290 AM, Laramie, Wyo.), he hosted weekday sports talk shows, provided daily sports reports and was a play-by-play football and basketball announcer.
An award-winning broadcaster, the Wyoming Association of Broadcasters voted his work as "Best Play-by-Play" in 1993. He was the National Sportscasters and Sportswriters Association's "Wyoming Sportscaster of the Year" in 1996. The Wyoming bureau of the Associated Press selected his work as "Best Sportscast" in 1998.

Francois was the interim director of marketing from April 2000 until his recent appointment. He originally came to San Jose State University in June 1999 as the Corporate Coordinator for the Spartan Network, a subsidiary of the sports marketing firm Host/USA. Francois successfully solicited new corporate partners for San Jose State University athletics and implemented marketing plans to elevate awareness of the school's athletics program.
Prior to his arrival at San Jose State, Francois was a marketing assistant for Gamecock Sports Marketing, another Host/USA subsidiary, and a sales and marketing associate for The J.Carroll Corporation.
Francois will be responsible for all aspects of the San Jose State University athletics marketing program, will work in conjunction with Chisholm in the sales area, and will assist the Silicon Valley Football Classic with marketing and corporate opportunities.
