Built in 1941 at a cost of $80,000, this city-owned natural grass stadium was a Public Works Administration project. Muni was one of the first stadiums built entirely of reinforced concrete and has been known for years as one of the state's finest minor league baseball facilities.
Over the years, the 5,200-seat stadium has served as the home field for the San Jose Owls, the San Jose Missions, the San Jose Bees, the San Jose Expos and now the San Jose Giants of the Class-A California League.
