Nevada Tops San Jose State, 5-2, at UCI Invitational

Irvine, Calif.-----The University of Nevada won four of six singles and two of three doubles matches for a 5-2 opening round triumph in the UCI Invitational women's tennis tournament.

Irvine, Calif.-----The University of Nevada won four of six singles and two of three doubles matches for a 5-2 opening round triumph in the UCI Invitational women’s tennis tournament.

Noelle Lee and Helen Van, playing at number three and four singles, respectively, posted the Spartans’ two singles in victories. Both players were straight set winners.

Lee and Ana Lukner teamed up for a 9-8 win over Tjasa Jezernik and Biljana Trpeska at number one doubles, but San Jose State was unable to notch another doubles win at number two or three for the overall doubles point.

San Jose State moves into the consolation bracket on March 25. The Spartans will face Point Loma College.
