Parkview Elementary School: Hispanic Heritage Day

Victoria Chavez from the Women’s Cross Country team, and Adan Penuelas from the Men’s Soccer Team participated in Parkview Elementary School’s annual Hispanic Heritage Day. The day was intended to get Spanish speaking parents involved in their child’s education in an environment that reflected their culture and language.

Spartan Student-athletes participated in Spanish presentations and talks. Chavez and Penuelas visited classrooms, spoke to parents and students, and assisted with many other activities through-out the day. Principal Robert Toft of Parkview Elementary said that these two Student-athletes made such a tremendous impact on not only the children but the parents as well.
