Patty Ralston Memorial Golf Tournament a hole-in-one

The Sixth Annual Patty Ralston Memorial Celebrity Golf Tournament raised over $44,000 and included a hole-in-one on a beautiful afternoon on June 23 at The Golf Club at Boulder Ridge.

The Sixth Annual Patty Ralston Memorial Celebrity Golf Tournament raised over $44,000 and included a hole-in-one on a beautiful afternoon on June 23 at The Golf Club at Boulder Ridge.

The tournament in memory of Patty Ralston, wife of Hall of Fame Coach John Ralston, featured celebrities including former Oakland Raiders quarterback Jim Plunkett, San Jose Mercury News sports columnist Mark Purdy, KTRY radio personality Gary Scott Thomas and University of California’s football broadcaster Lee Grosscup.

Grosscup, a former standout college quarterback at Utah and first-round draft pick of the New York Giants, hit a hole-in-one on the par 3, 145-yard 14th hole.

Ted Kwalick’s five-some won the tournament, posting a 9-under-par 63 in the scramble format. Kwalick, a two-time All-American tight end at Penn State and a first-round draft pick by the San Francisco 49ers in 1969, was joined by Steve Duffy, Jerry Engles, James Wilcox and Terry Rose.
