Penrod Named Assistant Executive Director of Spartan Foundation

Bill Penrod, a 2000 graduate of San Jose State University, has been named the assistant executive director of the Spartan Foundation in the San Jose State Athletics Department. The announcement was made by John Glass, senior associate athletics director.
Penrod spent the past year in the Spartan Foundation as the assistant to the director. He was responsible for the 2001 "Go Spartans!" Auction as well assisting with the fund drive. Penrod also coordinated the Junior Spartans booster club.
Penrod came to the SJSU Athletic Department as an intern for the Patty Ralston Golf Tournament in 1999. He then served as a marketing intern for 1999-2000 school year. Penrod also worked game days at the San Jose SaberCats and the San Jose Lasers.
Penrod replaced Michael Rehm, the executive director of the Spartan Foundation, who resigned on June 30 to pursue other opportunities.
