President's Cup Golf Tournament
Join the Spartans for the 32nd Annual President's Cup Golf Tournament brought to you by Allied Telesis.
As we celebrate SJSU’s 150th Anniversary, it is quite exciting to know that the President’s Cup Golf Tournament has evolved into one of the most successful events of its kind in the South Bay Area. Serving as a major fundraising tool for San Jos State University student-athletes scholarship support, it brings together many of the most high profile corporations and businesses in Silicon Valley.
The financial goal of the President’s Cup is to provide a net total of $125,000 to be used directly for scholarship assistance for San Jos State student-athletes. Another top priority is to provide each and every participant with a memorable day of golf, fun and camaraderie. Your enjoyment and satisfaction are of the utmost importance!
Between 350 and 400 student-athletes compete on San Jos State’s 16 Division I teams every year. The Division of Intercollegiate Athletics takes great pride in providing fully-funded scholarships for each of our programs.
Monies generated through Spartan Foundation membership, and special event fund raisers, such as the President’s Cup, are primary sources of scholarship assistance.
For 2007-2008, the cost of one full in-state scholarship is over $14,000. An out-of-state scholarship is over $23,000. No state funds are allotted for grant-in-aid support. Therefore, the athletics department depends greatly on private donations and special event fund-raising to satisfy its annual scholarship requirements.
Your support and participation are greatly appreciated.
