Rivalry Series Begins September 27

The “Rivalry Series” versus Santa Clara University for 2005 is set to begin on September 27 as the two volleyball teams will play at the Leavey Center beginning at 7 p.m. On September 28, the women’s soccer team hosts Santa Clara, while the men’s soccer team faces the Broncos the following evening. Both matches begin at 7:00 p.m. in Spartan Stadium.

The “Rivalry Series” was created in 2002 to build the rivalry between the cross-town universities and includes cross country, soccer, volleyball, basketball, golf, water polo baseball, softball, and tennis. The winner of each head-to-head match up receives three points per victory. Points are allocated for wins depending upon number of scholarships. Sports not fully funded receive two points per series victory. Santa Clara has won all three titles.
