Sammy Spartan Auditions This Wednesday

Do you have what it takes to be the next Sammy Spartan?

If you believe you are qualified, come to the open tryout this Wednesday, May 9 at 6:00 pm in the GOLD ROOM of the Simpkins Stadium Center. A panel of judges will be present to score each participant.

What to expect at Auditions:
Key emotions & situations
Creative use of props
Improvisation
Dancing scenarios


Tips for auditioning:
Emphasize your movements; if it feels like you are over-exaggerating, then you are doing it right!
Wear clothing you would work out in: comfortable shorts, t-shirt and sturdy shoes.
Hydrate before the audition.

Requirements of the San Jose State Mascot Program:
Yearly auditions
Person must be a SJSU student
Attend all Football games and Olympic Sport Gold Games
Community Appearances/Birthdays
Organization skills
Commitment of one full year as the mascot
