Heather Deman has been named the Spartan Foundation Athlete of the Week for her three individual event wins for the Spartan women's swimming team in a victory over Pacific on December 6.

Denman was the only competitor to win as many as three individual events on the day. She also led off the first-place 200 medley relay for the Spartans to begin the afternoon. The San Jose State foursome swam 1:46.26, with Denman's lead 50-yard backstroke leg timing 26.53.
 
The Maryland native later, in order, won the 100 backstroke (56.59), 100 butterfly (57.03) and 200 individual medley (2:08.92), totalling 27 individual points to go along with her 11 relay points. She was coming off an incredible performance at the 2008 Nike Cup in Long Beach, Calif., two weekends ago, that netted her Most Outstanding Female Swimmer distinction for the meet.
 
San Jose State concluded competition for the 2008 calendar year with a dual meet record of 9-1.
