Jay Myers has been named the Spartan Foundation Athlete of the Week for his performances for the men’s golf team last week.

Myers led San Jose State to the team title at the 5th Annual Pat Hick Thunderbird Invitational in St. George, Utah.  He posted a one-under par 143 for the rain-shortened two-round tournament.  Myers was just on e of three players to finish the tournament under par and his third top-10 placing in as many tournaments and his best finish of the season. 

The tournament win was the Spartans first tournament title since 2005.

For his efforts, Myers was also named the Western Athletic Conference Men’s Golfer of the Week.

The men’s golf team next plays at the John Burns Invitational this Wednesday-Friday, February 18-30 in Hawaii.
