Carlton Spencer was San Jose State’s key figure in the second half of the Fresno State win on January 13, at The Event Center. The win ended an eight-game losing streak with the 64-61 victory.

He scored 15 of his 20 points in the second half including six of the final eight San Jose State points. Spencer also led the team in rebounding against the Bulldogs with eight boards. He also helped San Jose State to its best field goal percentage defense of the season as Fresno State shot just 36.5 percent from the field. He also had the best assist-to-turnover ratio by a Spartan in a two-game span this season 9-to-1.

For the week, Spencer averaged 18 points and five rebounds. He had nine assists and two steals in two games. He added 16 points against #15 Nevada.
