Kendra Adama has been named the Spartan Foundation Student Athlete of the Week for her performances for the Spartan women’s water polo team at the Michigan Kickoff Invitational this past weekend.

Adama totaled 32 saves for the tournament and posted four wins as the Spartans finished the weekend with a 4-0 record.  She recorded 10 saves against #10 UC San Diego and #18 Michigan.  In a 9-8 victory over the Wolverines, Adama blocked a five-meter penalty shot which turned out to be the difference in win.

For her efforts this past weekend, Adama was also named the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Player of the Week along with attacker Katie Rulon of UCLA.

San Jose State continues its season on the road with an MSPF match at #5 California this Saturday at noon.  The Spartans open the home portion of the schedule on Sunday, February 3, in an MPSF match against Pacific.  Game time is set for 12:00 p.m., at the Aquatics Center.
