Jenelle Gomez helped the San Jose State women's golf team to a 15-shot victory at the Spartan Invitational March 5-6, at the Almaden Country Club.

Individually, Gomez, playing on the course she grew up on, finished in second place, two shots behind the winner with a 212 after shooting a two-over par 74.  Gomez’s three-round total of 212 is lowest round for a Spartan women’s golfer since 1999 when Marcela Leon shot a 212 (-4) at Arizona Invitational to finish in second place.  Gomez led the tournament in par four scoring and pars with 41.
