Porte won the all-around at the UNO Flip For A Cure quadrangular hosted by Arizona State Friday evening. She scored a 39.050 and won the all-around by just .025 over Arizona State gymnast Tiana Jean who scored a 39.025. Porte also helped the Spartans to a second place finish at the meet behind #7 Stanford. The Spartans defeated #17 Arizona State by just .200, and the team is now 11-2 on the season. San Jose State had not beaten a Pac-10 opponent since the 2005 season when the team defeated Stanford and California in a home meet.
The Spartans team score of 194.200 is the 12th highest score in school history. This season, San Jose State has three team scores in the top-12 all-time.
For the meet, Porte scored a 9.800 on floor to finish tied for third on the apparatus. She tied for the team’s highest score on beam with a 9.725 to finish tied for seventh. On bars, Porte tied her season-high with a 9.775. She added a 9.750 on vault.
This was the third time in four meets that Porte scored a 39.000 or better in the all-around.
