Moston won her first individual title of the season and the first since winning the 2007 Western Athletic Conference individual title. She shot a seven-under par, 209 for the three rounds, her best career round and one shot less than the 210 she shot last September at the Ron Moore Intercollegiate.
She opened the tournament with a 72 and followed that with a 68 and a 69. Her final round included five birdies. Moston finished the tournament strong with birdies on holes 15 and 16 and pars on the final two holes. She led the tournament in birdies with 14 and in par four scoring.
Moston also helped lead San Jose State to its third consecutive team tournament win and the best three round total (866) in more than 10 years and bests this season’s former best score by six shots, 872 at the Ptarmigan Ram Fall Classic.
As a team, the Spartans shot a 295 in the final round. The team led the tournament in birdies with 45, pars with 173 and par four scoring. San Jose State next competes at the Canes and Cardinal Classic, April 6-7, in Miami, Fla.
