Jack Adams has been named the Spartan Foundation Student Athlete of the Week for his performances for the San Jose State baseball team last week.

Adams pitched his first collegiate complete game with a 3-2 victory over Nevada last Friday night.  In the win, he pitched a career-best nine innings and struck out seven batters.  Adams walked just one batters and allowed seven hits and two earned runs as he improved his record to 3-1.

Earlier in the week, Adams pitched two innings against Stanford and retired all six batters he faced.

San Jose State enters the 2009 Napa Auto Parts Western Athletic Conference Tournament as the top-seed after winning the conference’s regular season crown.  The Spartans face six-seed Nevada Thursday at 2 p.m. PDT/11 a.m. HST.  All games are available at WAC.tv, for a nominal fee.
