Position: Pitcher
Fox threw a six-hit, 10-inning shutout of #25 Nevada this past Saturday as the Spartans were victorious 1-0. Fox allowed only six singles as she faced 40 batters during the game. She struck out two and walked two as she earned her first shutout in WAC play.
During the game, only one Wolf Pack runner advanced past second base. Fox allowed lead-off walks in the first, second, sixth and eighth innings, but was able to retire Nevada without a runner scoring.
The victory over Nevada gave Fox her fifth win of the season, her fourth shutout of the year and her eighth complete game of 2009.
San Jose State returns to the diamond this week at the 2009 Western Athletic Conference Softball Tournament in Fresno, May 6-9. The Spartans face Boise State Wednesday afternoon at 2 p.m. Live stats and video will be available through the WAC website at www.wacsports.com.
