Rosco Valentine has been named the Spartan Foundation Student-Athlete of the Week for his performances for the men’s golf team last week.
Valentine finished fourth at the 2008 Western Athletic Conference Championships at Cinnabar Hills Golf Club last week. He finished fourth for the second consecutive year with a 221 total.
In his final round, Valentine had the day’s low score with a two-under par 70. He recorded three birdies and three bogeys and eagled the fifth hole. After 10 holes, he was five-under par and was one of only two players under par for the last 18 holes of the championship.
Valentine and the Spartans finished sixth as a team at 926.
