C.J. Webster has been honored as this week’s Spartan Foundation Student-Athlete of the Week after his performances for the San Jose State men’s basketball team at the First Shot Exempt Tournament last week.
He averaged 13.3 points and 9.7 rebounds in helping San Jose State win the First Shot Exempt Tournament in Murfreesboro, Tenn., with a 2-1 record.
He posted the team's first double-double of the season with 19 points and 15 rebounds in a 79-72 loss to Lipscomb in the team's final game of the tournament. Webster scored 15 points and pulled down a team best six rebounds in an opening round win over host Middle Tennessee, 78-77. He shot 60 percent from the field (15-of-25) and blocked three shots in his debut with the Spartans.
The Spartans return to action on Friday, November 30, with a non-conference game at CS Bakersfield.
