Tafralis helped lead the Spartans to their third consecutive victory with a 31-10 win over San Diego State last weekend. The San Bruno, Calif. native was 17-of-21 with 234 yards passing with two touchdowns and no interceptions. The junior quarterback becomes the fourth San Jose State signal caller to complete 80 percent or better of his passes in a game with an 80.9 percent completion rate against the Aztecs.
Tafralis posted a career-best single-game passing efficiency rating of 205.98 in the win. Tafralis ranks 14th nationally in passing efficiency on the year with a 158.8 rating and ranks 42nd in total offense averaging 211 yards-per-game.
Tafralis joins teammates Yonus Davis and Dwight Lowery as Spartan football players who have earned the Spartan Foundation Student-Athlete of the Week honor in 2006.
