Kelly Crow has been named the Spartan Foundation Athlete of the Week after her performances last week in helping the volleyball team to a 3-0 record.
Crow came up big for the Spartans in the three victories last week. Against Fresno State, she started the week with 15 digs at defensive specialist. Against the Boise State, Crow came off the bench in the first three games as one of the Spartans’ defensive specialists. In games four and five, she moved into the libero role and ended the match with 15 digs, two assists and a service ace. Against Idaho, Crow started and played the entire match at outside hitter. She recorded her first collegiate double-double with a career-best 20 kills and 19 digs and hit .294 (20-5-51) for the match.
For the week, she averaged 1.54 kills and 3.77 digs per game.
The San Jose State volleyball team plays its final home volleyball match this Tuesday night against non-conference foe Pacific. First serve is set for 7 p.m., in Spartan Gym. The team takes back to the road to play at Fresno State on Thursday, and at Nevada on Saturday.
