Roxy Kamal has been named the Spartan Foundation Student-Athlete of the Week after her performance last week for the San Jose State women’s soccer team.

Kamal helped the Spartans to two wins last week, over Lafayette College, 4-1, and Howard University, 8-0.

At Lafayette, she scored her first goal of the season. Facing Howard, Kamal scored her only goal in the 69th minute of the match. She also assisted on the first three Spartan goals scored on the day. Her three assists were one shy of equalling the school record for assists in a match. It served as the first three-assist performance by a Spartan this decade.

The Spartans return home this week for a non-conference match against UC Davis Friday night. Kickoff is set for 7:00 p.m., inside Spartan Stadium.
