Senftleben recorded her 1,000th career kill in game four for the Spartans against Cal State Northridge at the SJSU Hyatt Invitational last weekend. The Canyon Lake, Calif. native is just the 10th Spartan in school history to post 1,000 kills in her career. The junior outside hitter finished the weekend with 1,008 kills in a San Jose State uniform.
Senftleben posted her fifth double-double of the season with a season-high 24 kills and 12 digs in the loss to the Matadors. On the week, Senftleben added three service aces against Harvard and 18 kills against #8 Santa Clara, while averaging 4.12 kills, 1.81 digs, and 0.31 blocks per game.
Senftleben becomes the second Spartan volleyball player to be named the 2006-07 Spartan Foundation Student-Athlete of the Week, joining teammate Jessie Shull, who earned the honor the first week of the season on August 28.
