Reed threw a 17-yard touchdown pass to Kevin Jurovich with just 0:08 left in the game to give San Jose State its first and final lead of the game. He drove the Spartans 64 yards in just 1:15 for the game-winning touchdown.
In his collegiate debut, Reed was under center for both scoring drives for San Jose State. In the third quarter, he took the Spartans 43 yards in 12 plays, topping off the drive with a three-yard pass to Terrance Williams for the first San Jose State touchdown.
For the game, Reed was 14-of-18 for 132 yards and two touchdowns. He also led the team in rushing with 28 yards on seven carries.
