Senior quarterback Adam Tafralis has been named the Spartan Foundation Student-Athlete of the Week after his performance in the Spartans’ 23-20 win at Utah State Saturday evening.

Tafralis, from San Bruno, Calif. (Mills HS), completed a career-high 35 passes for a personal-best 426 yards in the victory. He had three touchdown passes, including the 31-yard game-winner to David Richmond with 53 seconds left in the contest as the Spartans trailed 20-16. During the final drive, Tafralis was 4-of-6 for 83 yards.

For his efforts, Tafralis was also honored with Western Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Week honors.

The Spartans open the home portion of its schedule this Saturday afternoon with a non-conference game against UC Davis. Kick-off is set for 1 p.m., at Spartan Stadium.
