A three-time 1,000-yard rusher during his high school career, Trestin
joins the San Jose State University football team this fall as a tailback
prospect. At St. Mary's High School in Berkeley, Calif., (Coach James
Lawson), George rushed for 3,809 yards and 60 touchdowns. His best season
was in 2000 when he rushed for 1,319 yards, scored 27 rushing touchdowns
and four more on pass receptions during regular season action. Following
his senior season, he was named a first-team all-league selection for the
second time and a first-team All-Bay Area choice. The Contra Costa Times
listed George 18th in its 2002 "Cream of the Crop" listing and rivals.com
pegged him 23rd nationally among high school cornerbacks. The two-sport
letterwinner was a 47-foot triple jumper and 22-feet-9.25-inch long jumper
his junior year in high school.

Trestin, whose name means 'noble warrior" in German, visited the University
of Southern California during the recruiting period and had scholarship
offers from Oregon, Oregon State, Washington, Illinois, Colorado and Fresno
State. He chose San Jose State so he could remain close to his mother,
Renee, who suffered a stroke November 2001.
George enjoys the music of Marvin Gaye; Earth, Wind & Fire; and the Isley
Brothers. He has a poem, "Intro," published on www.poetry.com and was
invited to participate in the 2002 International Society of Poets contest
in Orlando, Fla., for youngsters between the ages of 15 and 18-years-old.
George is the founding president of his school's "Cultural Arts
Appreciation" Club. He has an eye on becoming a sports agent. Trestin was
born in Pasadena, Calif., on August 24, 1983.
