WAC Play-Up Tour Comes To San Jose
The Western Athletic Conference continues the 2007 Play Up Tour this weekend in San Jose, Calif. The eighth stop heads to Spartan Stadium in San Jose where New Mexico State will battle the Spartans.
The Western Athletic Conference continues the 2007 Play Up Tour this weekend in <?xml:namespace prefix="st1" ns="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags"?>San Jose, Calif. The eighth stop heads to Spartan Stadium in San Jose where New MexicoState will battle the Spartans. In the 15th meeting of the schools, San JoseState looks to defend its home turf in search of its third league win of the season and keep the series in its favor after beating the Aggies last year in Las Cruces, N.M., 31-21.
After a successful Tour in 2006, the WAC has continued its promotion of Play Up, announcing its nine fall stops. The Play Up Tour heightens awareness of the WAC brand as well as reinforces the association between the schools and the WAC. New for this year, the Play Up Tour will also be present at a handful of selected volleyball and soccer games throughout the season.

On Saturday, San JoseState fans can join the WAC Play Up Tour before the Spartan football team takes on New MexicoState. Supporters can stop by the WAC Play Up Tour tent located in the fan fiesta outside Spartan Stadium to pick up a free WAC foam finger. Fans can enter to win a helmet signed by San JoseState head coach Dick Tomey and can also register to win a trip to the 2007 New Mexico Bowl or the 2008 WAC Basketball Tournament in Las Cruces, N.M. Saturday’s kickoff is set for 1:00 p.m.
