Williams Breaks Event Center Record As Women's Basketball Defeats Nevada
SAN JOSESophomore guard Cricket Williams broke her own Event Center record Saturday evening with 14 assists as she helped lead the San Jose State women's basketball team to a 78-60 victory over Nevada in a Western Athletic Conference game.

Williams recorded her first double-double of the season with 14 points to go along with her 14 assists. She added five steals and five rebounds in the victory. Her 14 assists were two shy of the school record of 16 set by Liz Keough against Stanislaus State in 1976.
Senior Elea A’Giza led the Spartans with 23 points, her third 20-point game of the year. She was 7-of-7 from the free throw line and added eight rebounds. Atari Parker recorded her third double-double of the season with a team-high 10 rebounds and 13 points.
San Jose State led from the opening tip and led by as many as 20 in the first half and 33 in the second half. The team shot 46.8 percent from the field and 75 percent from the free throw line. Nevada was held to 35.5 percent from the field and 50 percent from the free throw line.
Kate Smith led Nevada with 20 points, while Katie Golomb added 17 points. Ashley Bastian was 5-of-10 from three-point range with 15 points.
With the Spartan victory, San Jose State has more conference wins with six than any team since the 1993-94 season. That team finished the season 9-9 in the Big West Conference. The six conference wins are also more wins than the past three seasons conference wins combined (5).
