Cedar Rapids, Iowa----- Due to inclement weather, the final round of the 54-hole GolfWeek Conference Challenge men's golf tournament was cancelled.
San Jose State, which was tied for fourth place at three-under par 573, keeps its score and is tied for Jacksonville among the top-five teams in the 16-team tournament.
Arkansas State captured team honors with a 20-under par 553. Host Iowa was second at 565. Campbell edged out San Jose State and Jacksonville for third place at 572.
Sean Yu was the top Spartan in the individual competition tying for fifth place at four-under par 140. Kevin Velo was next with a two-under par 142 and a 13th place finish.
In his first major college tournament, freshman Matt Heitel posted identical scores of 73 n the par 72, 7,112-yard Donald Ross designed course to finish tied for 32nd in the 85-player field.
Bryce Wortman, who opened with a 70, tied for 44th at 147. Ben Campbell's 148 was good for a 47th place tie.
The Spartans return to action, September 25, in the 54-hole UW Huskies Invitational in Sammamish, Wash.
