SAN JOSE, Calif. – SJSU women's soccer dropped Thursday night's home match to Cal State Fullerton, falling 2-0 to the Titans under the lights at the Spartan Soccer Field.
Cal State Fullerton netted the first goal of the game at just under the 20-minute mark in the opening period as Atlanta Primus was able to sneak a penalty kick past Spartan Goalkeeper Paige Simoneau, the defending Mountain West Defensive Player of the Week.
SJSU (0-3-2) then looked to pull even, but was overpowered by the Titans (3-3-1) and found themselves unable to find many chances. The Spartans attempted just nine shots to CSF's 16, with just one coming on-goal off the foot of Jamilecxth Becerra.
Simoneau collected a pair of saves but allowed both goals, the second of which coming in the game's final moments at the 78-minute mark.
With the loss, the Spartans will look to gather themselves on short time before welcoming UC Davis for a 1 p.m. PT match on Sunday.
