Spartans Wrap Up Mountain Pacific Invite With 11-9 Loss To #15-Pomona Pitzer

Stanford, Calif.——San Jose State University concluded its weekend losing to #15-Pomona Pitzer, 11-9, in the 15th place match.
 
The Sagehens (13-7) scored twice in the final 2:29 of the match to break a 9-9 tie.
 
The Spartans' top scorer was Adam Bado with three goals. Niels Hofmeijer with two, and Marc Weber, Ashley Castle, Justin Pickering, Cade Baldridge with one each also scored for San Jose State (4-12). Hofmeijer's second goal gave the Spartans a 9-8 lead with 5:24 to go in the fourth quarter.
 
San Jose State goalkeeper Yahav Fire was credited with nine saves for the third match in a row.
 
The Spartans are back in action October 20th in the Julian Fraser Memorial hosting four matches at the West Valley College Aquatic Center in Saratoga, Calif. San Jose State takes on Harvard at 10:20 a.m. and Bucknell at 3:40 p.m. LMU and Brown start the day at 9:00 a.m. and Cal Baptist and Wagner battle at 2:20 p.m.
