Spartans Sweep #15-Harvard & #14-Bucknell

Saratoga, Calif.----- San Jose State University posted a pair of wins over top-20 ranked teams on the first day of Julian Fraser Invitational men's water polo tournament at West Valley College.
 
Giacomo Lovatelli scored on all four of his shots including the game-winner as San Jose State outlasted #15-ranked Harvard, 13-12, in the first sudden victory overtime period in the Spartans' morning match.
 
Lovatelli's second goal of the match came with 2:43 to go in regulation time tying  the score at 10-10. He and teammate Neil Arnett each scored in the two 3:00 overtime periods answering a pair of Harvard scores leaving the teams tied at 12-12 after overtime.
 
            Utku Binkanat led the Spartans in scoring with four goals in a 10-9 victory over #14-ranked Bucknell.
 
            The Spartans close out its Julian Fraser Invitational action with two matches at Santa Clara University on Sunday, October 21. San Jose State takes on #16-Brown at 8:00 a.m. and St. Francis of Brooklyn at 1:20 p.m.
