Spartans Drop Two To Close Out Julian Fraser Memorial

Santa Clara, Calif.----- San Jose State University finished with two wins and two losses at the Julian Fraser Memorial men's water polo tournament after losing both ends of a final day doubleheader.
 
            The #19-ranked Spartans (6-13) lost to #15-Brown (15-10), 11-3, and to unranked Saint Francis of Brooklyn (5-12), 10-9.
 
            San Jose State was behind the entire match to Brown. Henry Smith, Cade Baldridge and Adam Bado scored goals for the Spartans.
 
            In the nightcap, William Lapkin of Saint Francis scored the match-winning goal on a penalty shot with 1:19 remaining in the match. San Jose State had the biggest lead of the match, 5-2, early in the second quarter, but could not hold off the Terriers.
 
            Collin Murphy and Marc Weber led the Spartans in scoring with two goals each.
 
            San Jose State's first day in the Julian Fraser Memorial was much more memorable after a 13-12 sudden victory win over #13-Harvard and a 10-9 triumph over #14-Bucknell.
 
            The Spartans return to action hosting UC Irvine in a Golden Coast Conference match, Saturday, October 27, at Noon at the West Valley College Aquatic Center.
