SAN JOSE, Calif. – Freshman guard Kaison Hammonds found his way to the Bay all the way from Highlands Ranch, Colorado, where he was a two-time Colorado High School Athletic Association First Team All-State selection at ThunderRidge High. Hammonds had tremendous success at the high school level leading his team to a 49-5 record over his junior and senior seasons.
Last season as a senior, Hammonds averaged 15.7 points, 4.4 rebounds and 3.1 assists per game. Like many players on the SJSU roster, he has family ties to the game. His father, Tom Hammonds, was a star at Georgia Tech and played 11 seasons in the NBA for four different teams from 1990-2001.
