Spartans Lose WAC Championship Match

Seattle, Wash. - San Jose State University's men's soccer season comes to an end as the Spartans lose to Grand Canyon University 1-0, in the championship match of the Western Athletic Conference Tournament.

In the 23rd minute, GCU led a counter-attack that finished with senior Alex Radilla firing a left footed shot from inside the box. The goal was assisted by GCU senior Marco Afonso.   

Each team was credited with 10 shots. Max Allen and Danny Sanchez led the Spartans with two shots each.

The Spartans senior goalkeeper Alex Clewis was credited with three saves.

Following the loss, the Spartans finish the season with a record of  8-10-3.

Allen, Omar Lemus and Andy Rios were named to the WAC All-Tournament Team.
